"Y’know when you think ‘I can’t do something because this or this or this.’ You can actually do anything you want, like I could ballistic right now and tear this whole room apart, I could but i’m not going to because logic is stopping me but you can do whatever you want. You really can veer off any path at any time. Never give up!

So a thing happened…

allons-ytobakerstreet:

I’m still a bit of an emotional wreck. I don’t quite know the words to describe how I’m feeling. I went to the Thor: The Dark World premiere today and had an awesome time. When it came to the cast members signing things, I somehow managed to get pushed to the front and was getting crushed against the barrier. Those of you who know about my recent health issues will understand how painful that was-and I was almost crying I was in so much pain. when Tom came past he signed my notebook and happened to look up and notice the state I was in, and looked genuinely concerned, asking if I was okay. I said yes, and seized the moment to say to him something I’ve been wanting to say for a long time-thank you. I told him about the operations, and the chronic pain, and the depression I’ve been going through, and about how during the recovery I watched a lot of his films and how they’ve inspired me to go into film making, as well as put me into contact with so many amazing, supportive friends without whom I doubt I’d still be here. He then reached forward, put his hand on my shoulder and said ‘no, you’ve got yourself where you are today, give yourself some credit. Don’t give up because you’re so important and you’re going to get what you want, just don’t give up I believe in you, remember that’ and squeezed my shoulder and smiled and after I just burst into tears.l

I won’t give up, Tom. I promise. I won’t forget.

I was right there when this happened! Sorry I didn’t notice you!! And really glad you got to tell him and he got to tell you such amazing things. I believe in you too :)

“I tend to discourage people from calling me ‘Sir Ian,’ because I don’t like being separated out from the rest of the population. Of course, it can be useful if you’re writing an official letter, like trying to get a visa or something passed through Parliament. They’re impressed by these things.”

"If you want it, and you believe in it, you have to do it. And I know it’s silly, and I know I’m kind of irrationally optimistic, but you have to be and you can’t really have another plan, because you’re going to fall back on it."

“The fallacy in Hollywood is that if you’re making a “feminist” story, the woman kicks ass and wins. That’s not feminist, that’s macho. A movie about a weak, vulnerable woman can be feminist if it shows a real person that we can empathise with.”

I think it’s ridiculous that you need to look a certain way to be conventionally pretty.

fake your confidence until it’s real. I think it’s a good way to live most of your life.

“I was kind of joking, but kind of not joking about MJ. And I was like, ‘What if MJ is a dude?’ Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!…So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys?”

Andrew Garfield thinks it’d be cool if Spider-Man swung a different way. (He also wanted MJ to be played by Michael B. Jordan.)

He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better—we’d have interracial bisexuality!”
